Track who you owe and who owes you in your circle: What Choplee solves

The messy middle of group expenses
Splitting a bill sounds simple until the group gets bigger. A Boracay weekend, a shared Airbnb, or a monthly house grocery run quickly turns into chat threads, half-updated spreadsheets, and the awkward question nobody wants to send: “Have you paid yet?”
People usually remember the total. What gets lost is the status of each share — who still owes, who already paid, and whether a transfer screenshot was ever reviewed. That gap is what creates follow-ups, awkward reminders, and unpaid leftovers weeks later.
What Choplee is
Choplee is a settlement ledger for circles: friends, travel groups, housemates, and anyone who splits expenses often. It helps you create a shared bill, assign each person’s share, track open balances, and collect payment proofs until the group is settled.
It is built around a clear idea: track who you owe and who owes you in your circle. Instead of hunting through messages, everyone can follow the same ledger for shared bills, proofs, and open amounts — for trips, dinners, and house shares.
What problem it solves
Most group expense tools stop at math: they calculate who should pay. Choplee focuses on what happens after the split is created — the settlement process itself.
- One place for the bill total, membership, and each person’s owed amount
- Clear visibility into who is still unsettled
- Payment proofs uploaded by members and reviewed by the bill owner
- Saved friends and circles for groups you split with again and again
- Less reliance on spreadsheets, chats, or memory to chase payments
How settlement works in Choplee
Creating a bill collection uses one credit from your balance. New accounts start with starter credits so you can try the flow. After that, buy more credits when you need more collections. Settlement between members does not consume credits.
A typical circle flow looks like this:
- Create a split with the bill details and receipts
- Add people from Friends, a Circle, a Gmail, or a name
- Members pay their share outside Choplee using GCash, Maya, bank transfer, or cash — from the app or a personal settle link
- Members upload a payment screenshot as proof
- The bill owner approves proofs and marks the bill settled when everyone is done
What Choplee does not do
Choplee does not move or hold money. It is not a wallet, bank, or payment processor. Cash-out still happens in the apps your circle already uses. That keeps Choplee focused on the ledger: shares, owes, proofs, and settled status.
Creating splits and saving Friends still need a Choplee account. Paying a share does not: owners can add someone by Gmail or by name and send a personal settle link. Read Settle without an account for that flow.
Who it is for
Choplee fits recurring groups better than one-off strangers. If you often split with the same people — travel barkadas, dorm or condo housemates, office lunch crews, family trips — saving them as friends and circles removes the repetitive setup work.
If your group’s pain is less “how do we calculate the split?” and more “how do we finish settling without chasing people forever?”, Choplee is built for that.
Start with one circle
You do not need a perfect process on day one. Sign in, create one bill for a real group expense, and walk the settlement through to proof and approval. That single completed loop usually shows the value faster than any feature list.
Ready to try it? Open Choplee, invite your circle, and keep every owe in one place — without the spreadsheet chase.
